K P Prabhakaran Nair

About :  The author is former Professor, National Science Foundation, The Royal Society, Belgium and Senior Fellow, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, The Federal Republic of Germany and Chairman, Independent Expert Committee on Bt brinjal. He as been affiliated as Visiting Professor to several renowned universities and is the recipient of the Robertson Memorial Gold Medal For Outstanding Research in Agronomy, and several other international and national awards, including the Swadeshi Sastra Puraskar in 2005 of the Swadeshi Science Movement For Outstanding Contributions in Agricultural Science. He is best known internationally for developing "The Nutrient Buffer Power Concept" which has thrown the biggest scientific challenge to the chemically-driven agriculture known as the "green revolution". Prof Nair is the only agricultural scientist in the world to have been invited five times to contribute chapters to ADVANCES IN AGRONOMY, the magnum opus of agricultural science, popularly known as the Bible of Agricultural Science.
